Gypsy Soul and kayaks at dock

Gypsy Soul Adventures

Bald Eagle perched on log in the water

Gypsy Soul Adventures is a local operation providing a variety of marine adventures.

We share our west coast experience and knowledge of local history: some Indigenous and some from the early settlers. From hidden coves that offer blissful privacy, to amazing discoveries of the life and times of those who built and prospered as early miners, fisherman and loggers — we know our home waters and then some.

Our west coast is a boater’s paradise. On this site we provide information to the kayak community, the power boaters, sailing vessels and occasionally include fishing information.

As a retired Coxswain from the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, local Halfmoon Bay station, I endeavour to share details of safety, weather and course information.

My love of the west coast started as a kid growing up near the sockeye capital of BC, Steveston. From rafts and dinghies to kayaks and power boats to the ever-present commercial vessels, the west coast has called my attention for adventure and freedom, and continues to do so. I experience great joy in getting friends and family out on the water and sharing that connection to the awe of our amazing Salish Sea and beyond.

I am honoured to live, work, and play on the unceded territory of the Shishalh Nation and the Squamish People, currently known as the Sunshine Coast.
