The season is progressing quickly, Spring salmon retention opened July 15th, we have been out catching them.. some nice sized fish are being caught trolling and with live bait(mooching). The coho are back, we are catching them on live herring, white hoochies, skinny G’s. The majority are wild coho, we are doing no contact release for these fish and keeping the hatchery ones. The coho are feisty and love to come leaping out of the water, doing a tail dance..As for tours, we did a nice afternoon picnic over to Bucaneer Bay on Saturday, dropped annchor and kayaked to the sandy beach of Thormanby Island(The Gap). The water was refreshing and cool, swimming at it’s finest.
