Season Opening 2026

As of today, the 2026-2027 recreational fishing season has opened up much the same as the previous years in my home area, which Area 16.. Area 29. Prawns, Crab, Halibut and some Salmon are open for retention. Specifically for Salmon you will want to know your 16-12,16-9, 16-6 areas. Which are basically off Egmont, Sechelt/Salmon Inlet and part of Hotham Sound. There is no mention in the regs whether there will be a retention period for Hatchery Coho usually starting around June 1st, with the larger Spring Salmon retention starting July 15th. Stay tuned like the rest of us…As Gypsy Soul Adventures offers fishing charters this time of year, all clients/customers are encouraged to know the basic salt water regulations. As well know your species, here is a detailed species list with links to what we have for species in our Pacific Coast area.
