May Long Weekend, we had a day of calm in between hard rains and heavy winds.
But the Sunday brought us blue skies, warm sunshine and a slight breeze..
We tested our gear for jigging with brined up large herring, a six oz weight, 6′ leader, barbless treble hooks. Our goal was to catch ourselves some fresh ling for Sunday fish taco dinner. Not to be disappointed we even hooked a hungry spring. It was Pam’s first fish, actually 2.. a ling and a spring.
The spring salmon was a successful no contact release. Kneeling on the back swim grid deck, pliers in hand made for an easy feel good release. We do fish and catch salmon this time of the year, even tho it is non-retention, our no contact policy using either a gaf or pliers sets the fish free with minimal impact.
Fish charter bookings are now available, we offer 2 times… a morning slot and an afternoon slot.
